With the opening game against Tonga in St Helens just under a fortnight away, here is a look at how the England players performed this weekend in the Betfred Super League.

Friday evening saw St Helens’ ‘drive for five’ come to an end with a defeat in the South of France to the Catalans Dragons.

Super League’s top scorer, Tom Johnstone was denied a try. However, Johnstone made 133 metres from 21 carries.

Mike McMeeken started at prop during the victory for the Dragons.

Full-back, Jack Welsby, got the only assist for the Saints. Meanwhile, Morgan Knowles ended the match as the top tackler with 47.

In the other semi-final, Wigan Warriors defeated Hull KR on Saturday afternoon.

Winger, Liam Marshall completed a hat-trick during the Warriors’ victory. Marshall made 161 metres during the contest.

Another England player who scored was Toby King. The centre scored in the second half during his final appearance at the DW Stadium in a Wigan shirt.

Jake Wardle assisted a try, meanwhile, Morgan SmithiesTyler Dupree and Kai Pearce-Paul all featured during the Wigan success.

In opposition, Mikey Lewis played in the halves and at full-back. Hooker, Jez Litten scored the final points with a try underneath the sticks.
